Why have a Photoshoot at all?

Nowadays, photos are almost exclusively taken with one’s own smartphone. The focus is usually on capturing a moment as a memory. Unfortunately, in most cases, conscious photography is lost, which means that while there are many pictures of you, your partner, your children, and other family members, there are hardly any really beautiful ones. And these beautiful photos are exactly what I want to give you. Photos are not only personal memories of special events, but also make wonderful gifts for friends and family.

How does it work?

1. Scheduling
   If you are interested in a photoshoot, it is best to send me an email with your ideas. As the world is my studio, I don’t have specific opening hours. We can therefore also arrange an appointment in the evening or on the weekend.
   
2. The photoshoot 
   Get yourself photographed naturally and authentically in a relaxed atmosphere at a location of your choice (Vienna & surroundings). Alone, with your partner, your family, your friends, your dog, your horse, or whoever you like. The photshoot lasts about 1 hour.

But I’m not photogenic, will I look good in the photos? 

Do you fell that way? You don’t like photos of yourself?
You are not alone. I have photographed more than 5000 people and about 4900 of them have already said they are not photogenic when they greet me.

In my opinion, people feel this way for two reasons:

1. Because we are our own biggest critics. When we look at a photo of ourselves, we notice small things that no one else notices. And we get fixated on these little things and only see them.
2. Because the photo actually looks unflattering. Causes can be a bad pose, a wrong perspective, or unfavorable lighting. Or more fundamentally – we feel insecure and uncomfortable during the shots – and that’s what we project onto the photo.

Regarding the second point – you can rely on me. I will guide you so that you look good. As good as you’ve never looked in a photo before 😉

1. Choosing the photos If time, location, and weather conditions permit, we will look at the photos on the laptop immediately after the shoot and choose your favorite photos together.

I will edit the photos you have chosen in the following days. I place value on a natural and timelessly beautiful look. (No special effects editing, no vintage filters, no exaggerated blurring, etc.)

1. Receiving the photos As soon as the photos are finished, you will receive a link to a stylish web gallery where you can view, share, and download the photos. Both on your computer and on your smartphone or tablet.

Can photoshoots take place outdoors in Vienna?

Yes, I offer outdoor photoshoots in Vienna. I mainly take photos outdoors and have already done photoshoots at many different locations in Vienna. Whether in nature or in an urban setting, everything is possible. I am happy to make suggestions for good places, but we can also take photos at a location of your choice.

How much does the photoshoot cost?

You can choose from the following three payment options:

• Cash or card (on the day of the photoshoot)

Which locations in Vienna are particularly suitable for photoshoots?

There are many beautiful locations in Vienna for photoshoots. Some particularly popular places are the Historical Center with the opera house, Albertina, Heldenplatz, Stephansdom, Karlskirche or places like Schönbrunn Palace, the Belvedere, the extensive parks around the Prater, the Danube Canal, various museums, as well as many other historical sights.

What clothing should I wear for the photo shoot?

In general, the more comfortable you feel, the better. It’s important to choose an outfit that fits your personal style. If you want to take a professional portrait, you should not necessarily choose a sloppy look. Ultimately, it also depends heavily on the direction the shoot should take. (see above). For corporate portraits, a business look can be a good choice. You should definitely choose an outfit that you feel comfortable in and that suits your personality. Try to keep your outfits in a moderately homogeneous/color-matching scheme. Avoid wearing clothes that are too vibrant and bright. Also, very fine patterns or stripes are less suitable. Also, avoid too many accessories so that attention is not diverted from you as a person. You can also change clothes during the shoot. For family or group photos, the style and colors should be reasonably coordinated. If you are unsure, I am happy to make recommendations.

Do I need a makeup artist?

That’s a good question and the answer depends on what you want to achieve with the shoot. If the photos are intended for fashion and beauty portraits, it is advisable to hire a makeup artist. Makeup artists can also touch up hair and makeup during the shoot if anything gets smudged. In terms of look, a professional makeup artist can definitely help take the photos to a whole new level. However, if you want natural, authentic photos of yourself or the style should be very simple, a makeup artist is not necessary.

What time of day do you recommend for the shoot?

If you want to do a photo shoot with natural light, the golden hour is a good choice as it produces a soft light that is well-suited for portraits. The golden hour is shortly after sunrise and shortly before sunset. If you want to shoot indoors, the time of day does not matter much. If you want to shoot in the evening, I can also bring my studio flash unit.

I’ve never done a portrait shoot and I feel insecure

Don’t worry – I understand that a photo shoot is a very unusual event for most people, and my top priority is that you feel comfortable. I am happy to take the time to discuss your wishes and expectations in advance.

Do I need to have an idea of poses or will you help me with that?

Very few clients I photograph have experience in posing. I will help you and suggest poses that are flattering for you, look natural, and give you a feeling of satisfaction and confidence. If you have certain poses in mind that you want to implement, that is of course not a problem.

Should I have the photos taken Indoors or outdoors?

This depends entirely on your preference. If you are looking for classic studio backgrounds, I recommend looking for another photographer. I myself do not have a studio in the classic sense – I make the world my studio 😉 However, I do have a mobile flash unit and can therefore take studio flash photos anywhere. If you are looking for a natural and authentic look, it is better to have your photo shoot outdoors. So, you can make the decision for yourself about what suits your wishes best. We can also take photos indoors, in your apartment, house, or office.

What style will the photos be taken in?

The style of the photos depends largely on your expectations – depending on whether you want to go more towards fashion, business, or lifestyle portraits. We can also take the time to discuss your wishes and ideas to ensure that you get the best possible photos. Mainly, I keep my style natural, personal, authentic, and timeless. For me, photography is more than just “press the button.” I place great emphasis on capturing your essence.

How many people can participate in a photoshoot? 

There is no limit to the number of people who can participate, as long as we find a suitable location where everyone can fit into the photo 😉

When and how will I receive the photos? 

You will receive the photos just a few days after the shoot, in the form of a web gallery.

I want to do the shoot outdoors, but what if it rains on the day? 

In this case, we have 3 options:

• We shoot in the rain and create great, unusual photos.
• We move the shoot inside (for example, to your home).
• We reschedule the appointment.
